Description

Azicip 500 mg is an antibiotic medication used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It belongs to the class of drugs known as macrolide antibiotics.

Azicip 500 mg Dosage and Administration

Adults:

  • The usual adult dose is 500 mg once daily for 3 days.
  • Alternatively, 500 mg on the first day followed by 250 mg once daily for the next 4 days.

Children:

  • The dosage for children is based on body weight and the type of infection being treated. It is typically calculated as 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days.

Method of Administration:

  • Tablets should be taken orally with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, it is recommended to take the medication with food.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to azithromycin or any other macrolide antibiotic.
